HomeCompare › vs Excel, Primavera and Word
Compare · against the workflow you run today

Your real competitor is the 11 PM manual grind. So is ours.

Excel for the register, Primavera for the programme, Word with last year's claim as a template, WhatsApp for the photos. It works, until a notice deadline passes unnoticed or a claim needs to be rebuilt from months of scattered records.

4
Places the current toolchain loses claims: the late register, the memory-tracked deadline, the scattered evidence, the rebuilt narrative
P6
Stays exactly where it is; DraftMyEOT does not replace your programme
Word
Stays as the output format; every draft exports to .docx with Word-safe fonts
WHAT THE CURRENT TOOLCHAIN DOES WELL

This is not a hit piece on Excel

The tools are fine. The gaps are in the joins between them, and in the fact that none of them knows what your contract says.

01

Primavera P6

The right tool for the programme, and mandated on most NHAI, metro, and Gulf mega-projects. Keep it. Attach extracts as evidence; enter time impact figures from it.

02

Word

Where the submission lives and where the Engineer reads it. DraftMyEOT exports to Word, with numbered paragraphs and an annexure list, precisely so nothing changes at that end.

03

Excel

A perfectly good register, if it is started on day one, if the awareness dates are captured, and if someone computes the deadlines in the right working week. Usually two of those three fail.

THE COMPARISON

Where each toolchain wins

JobExcel, P6, Word, WhatsAppDraftMyEOT
Knowing your notice periodSomeone reads the Particular Conditions and remembersExtraction quotes the clause and diffs it against the standard form; you confirm before anything activates
Starting the registerUsually after slippage is visibleUnder a minute per event on a phone, from day one, with event and awareness dates separate
Computing deadlinesFormula in a spreadsheet, calendar days, one weekend profilePer-project weekend profile and holidays, calendar or working days, alerts at 7, 3, and 1 days
Keeping evidencePhones, binders, Aconex exports, inboxesPer-event locker with reference numbers, WhatsApp parsing, diary photo transcription, bulk correspondence import, gap checklist
Writing the noticeCopy last project's letter, edit by handThree-step generator, clause cited from your contract, numbered per your convention, logged against the event
Writing the claimRebuild from the last claim, weeks of nightsFive-step wizard, structured draft from your inputs only, gaps flagged, annexures auto-built
Proving what was sent whenSent-items folder and memoryStatus only advances when a letter is marked sent; drafted is never shown as served
CostStaff time, mostly unpaid overtimeUSD 750 per pilot draft; per company or per project plans; never per seat
THE FOUR PLACES CLAIMS ARE LOST

And the specific fix for each

HOW IT WORKS

Four steps, each one stamped

N1

Upload the contract

Notice periods, time-bar wording, and LD terms extracted with the quoted clause; Particular Conditions diffs shown against the family baseline.

Profiled
N2

Log delays from site

Event date and awareness date captured separately; diary photos and WhatsApp exports become dated, referenced evidence.

N3

Guard every window

Deadlines counted in the project's own working week; alerts at 7, 3, and 1 days to every admin and contracts manager.

Served in time
N4

Draft for review

Family-correct claim or notice drafted from your inputs only, exported to Word and PDF with a draft-for-expert-review banner.

VS THE CURRENT TOOLCHAIN · FREQUENTLY ASKED

Asked in every first call

Do we have to stop using our Excel register?
No, but you can export ours in the same shape, including the Indian hindrance register format, and stop maintaining two.
Can we import what we already have?
Correspondence CSVs from document control systems import in bulk with dates and references preserved, and .eml files can be dropped in together. Existing Excel registers can be entered event by event; a bulk register import is on the roadmap.
Does it change how the Engineer receives our claim?
No. The output is a Word or PDF document with numbered paragraphs and an annexure list. Nothing about your submission channel changes.

Why you can put your name near it

Draft for expert review

DraftMyEOT is not a law firm and never claims to be. Every output is a draft, built to be reviewed and signed by your contracts lead or consultant.

Nothing invented, ever

No dates, events, or clause numbers appear that you did not supply. Every paragraph shows the evidence reference it was built from.

Your data, walled off

Each company's workspace is isolated, documents sit in private storage, and consultants see only the project they were invited to.

Send one project instead of another late night

Send a contract, your delay events, and whatever records exist, tidy or not. A structured draft comes back in 48 hours. Not useful? Keep it, owe nothing.
